General Tso’s Chicken
General Tso’s chicken is one of my favorite things to eat, ever. I stumbled upon this recipe a few days ago, and HAD to try it. I made a few modifications…
To the marinade, I added red pepper flakes and powdered ginger and split the sesame oil with Mongolian fire oil (basically sesame oil infused with hot chilis). I also let the chicken marinate in the fridge for several hours rather than the 10-15 minutes the recipe calls for. Also, I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts rather than thighs, only because that is what I had on hand.
Instead of dried chili’s, I used two fresh habanero peppers (diced) and three large hot banana peppers (sliced). Next time, I will double the sauce mix, as it could have used just a little more.
This might just be the best thing I have ever cooked. SO GOOD!
